How awkward! Ian Somerhalder’s ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, and wife, Nikki Reed, attended the same event on Monday, Oct 19 — the ‘Elle’ Women In Hollywood Awards — and that’s a little too close for comfort, if you ask us.
Nina Dobrev and Nikki Reed both looked absolutely stunning at the Elle Women In Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles on Monday evening, Oct. 19, but we couldn’t help thinking how awkward their near run-in must have been, considering they’ve both had sexual relations with the same man — hunkyVampire Diaries actor Ian Somehalder. One’s his ex, and one’s his wife. That’s a recipe for disaster.
It’s not clear if Nina and Nikki saw each other, or even said hello, but can imagine such an interaction would be hard on Nina. The former Vampire Diaries star actually declined an invite to Ian and Nikki’s April 2015 wedding, HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY learned, as she thought it would be too “awkward.”
“She was invited. She actually thought about going, but in the end Nina decided it would just be too awkward,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY at the time. We have a feeling a run-in at the Elle party would have been just as weird.
Regardless of whether they ran into each other or not, Nina looked beautiful in a skimpy little dress that was both feminine and flattering. And Nikki had on a strapless gown with silver heels — so gorgeous! Also at the Elle event were Melanie Griffith and her daughter Dakota Johnson, Salma Hayek, Amy Schumer, Kate Winslet, Miranda Kerr, Zoe Saldana, Mary J. Blige and more!
